The annual summit of the Financial Women’s Association will be held in New York on May 22 and 23. Jeļena Buraja, the Chairman of the Board at Rietumu Bank, will open the second day of the summit by addressing financial experts from all over the world.
During the summit, Jeļena Buraja will present her perspective on challenges faced by Europe and Latvia in recent years: the geopolitical situation, instability and the resulting risks. She will also comment on the history of women in Europe and progress achieved in gender equality in the banking industry.
At a time of increasing uncertainty, banking leaders need to have a truly deep knowledge of their business, as well as strong personal traits and character to manage processes in order to overcome financial difficulties, the ongoing war, global competition, and ensure progress towards environmental sustainability and gender equality.
During the summit, experts will also discuss current economic developments, environmental, social and governance issues, the impact of hybrid and remote work on the daily organizational procedures, and others.
